- Depending on the subject, the number of questions to be asked and attempted in each part and section may differ.
- No applicant may exit the examination hall for three hours before or during the exam.
- There will be Hindi and English versions of the question paper. Candidates who select Hindi as their preferred language in the application form will see questions in both English and Hindi. Candidates who select English will only see questions in English.
- Students appearing for the exam must bring their CSIR NET admit card, an original photo identification proof, and two passport-sized photographs.

Mathematical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Physical Sciences are the five science streams in which the National Testing Agency administers the CSIR UGC NET examination. The exam consists of two parts: the general aptitude and the optional subject of your choice.
